A seven-hour online shopping event will provide the “shot in the arm” the New Zealand fashion industry needs in the aftermath of Covid-19 lockdown.
New Zealand designers, retailers and businesses will hold a one-night only online shopping night, Together Today, on Thursday (May 14).
The project will see a range of special discounts, gifts with sale and other perks offered at the event which starts at 5pm and can be accessed at www.togethertoday.co.nz.
Showroom 22, a public relations fashion agency, is behind the event.
“I wouldn’t like to say the industry is on its knees, but there are many of us who have had our heads in our hands a bit, for sure,” says Showroom 22 director Murray Bevan.
He says local designers were left with “enormous” wholesale orders that could not be shipped, were cancelled or returned.
“But at the same time of course, people are wanting to buy local products, possibly more than ever before. Together Today will be a chance for New Zealand fashion to share its voice, and for fashion fans all over the country to show their support and snap up amazing deals from the country’s most loved designers and retailers,” he says.
