Impact lippy

From the team at Indigo & Iris, whose mascara sales has so far enabled sight to be restored to 300 people in the Pacific Islands (through The Fred Hollows Foundation), comes a new product. Keeping with the brand’s ethos to give away 50 per cent of its profits to benefit others, the new lipstick range is set to “empower women to achieve economic independence” through its ties with Dress for Success. Another successful Pledge Me campaign has enabled the vegan and cruelty-free lippies to be available from March, straight from the same Italian suppliers that make the lengthening and hydrating Levitate mascara. Watch this space, as we expect this is not the last we hear from the Christchurch brand.

Hair now

I was in a salon recently and the stylists were in a twitter. Turns out, one had received the new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer for a birthday present and the boyfriend had secured some serious brownie points. I’m not surprised. Dyson first introduced this product to the market in 2016, having invested 100 million pounds into its development, and that of the partner product, the Dyson Airwrap styler. It went through 600 prototypes and four years of development, and landed in New Zealand just this year, retailing at $599. With intelligent heat controls that assess the air temperatures 40 times a second, you won’t burn your hair – or your head, and you can count on a high pressure blast thanks to the digital motor that propels 13 litres of air into the amplifier every second. It comes with four magnetic styling attachments that help control or volumise curls (diffuser), enable precision drying for sleek looks (styling concentrator) and create a soft, natural finish (smoothing nozzle) and be kind to sensitive scalps (gentle air attachment).

Let’s be Frank

Looking for a product to prep the skin ahead of a good fake tan session? Well, Frank Body’s 100% natural Original Coffee Scrub is a winner. Packed with coffee grinds (which stimulate blood flow and promote collagen production) and complete with vitamin E and almond oil (for hydration and healing), it will leave you skin silky soft after just one in-shower application.  Plus, it’s touting as being able to fade and prevent stretch marks and cellulite.
