Situated directly opposite the stunning New Brighton Pier, The Pier View Resturant is a top quality eatery that’s popular with both locals and tourists alike.
With a delicious, à la carte menu along with chef’s specials, there is something for everyone at this beautiful location. The restaurant is well known for its famous Sunday three-course special and great food at very reasonable prices.
The main menu has New Zealand classics with an international influence and European treats.
For a starter, try the smoked salmon and Parmesan risotto balls with fried capers and balsamic glaze, or the sautéed chicken livers with shallots and orange pepper sauce.
For the main affair, hugely popular is the slow-cooked lamb shanks, dressed in a rosemary jus and served with green pea mash, crispy sea salt potatoes, caramelised onions and mint vinegar.
For poultry lovers, the scrumptious cashew-crusted chicken breast with chive mash, wilted spinach, asparagus and hollandaise sauce is scrumptious.
There is a selection of mouth-watering desserts including custard-filled crispy profiteroles coated in chocolate sauce and served with whipped cream and vanilla bean ice cream.
Or, clean your palate with a serve of aged cheddar, onion jam, walnut bread and crackers.
The restaurant is available for function hire and makes a stunning setting for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries as well as work functions. The chef can design a menu to suit your requirements, taste and budget.
Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 5.30pm, the restaurant also offers Sunday brunch 10.30am to 2.30pm.
